1961SpringThe first specimen taken for the state; a female found dead at the Northeast Athletic Field in Minneapolis on 22 May was brought to Harding Huber. The specimen was in fairly good shape and was turned over to the Museum of Natural History. It can now be officially listed as occurring in Minnesota, since for scientific purposes all previous sight records are hypothetical.

1965Spring5-16 near Osseo, one or possibly two males, LB; 5-19 Coon Rapids, aberrant singing male, (ap· parently same bird as last summer) took up residence again, DP et. al.; see Notes of Interest in previous issue.
1966Summer5-19 to 6-30 same (?) aberrant singing male present at Coon Rapids, Anoka Co, that has lingered for past two summers, DP, WRP, RLH, LB, HFH, RG, etc, etc.; 6-18 Stockton Winona Co, GD.
1968Spring 5-14 Lake Harriet, Hennepin Co., 1 ad male seen by GES, seen and heard singing by DB, KP (see Notes of Interest in previous issue).
1974Spring 5-20 to 5-24 Hennepin OJ, PCHS.
1975Spring 2 reports: 5-7 Hennepin (1) M. Johnson and 5-8 Lyon (1) (Mrs. W. F. Vance).
1977Summer A singing male was found at Afton St. Pk., Washington Co. from 6-17 to 6-19 (R. Glassel).

1993Summer Most reports in 14+ years. Singing male on territory observed from spring through 6/26 at Seven Mile Creek Co. Park, Nicollet Co. mob (same bird as last year?); plus single male 6/9 Winona PB (Whitewater W.M.A.) and single male 6/5 Waseca RG.

1994Summer Confirmed nesting at Seven Mile Creek County Park in Nicollet Co. BF (The Loon 66:115–117); this represents the first positive nesting record for the state.
